This hardy annual, also known as Shepherd’s Weatherglass and Owl’s Eye, is one of our best loved wild flowers. The flowers, normally scarlet but sometimes pink, are star-like and appear on thin stalks. The square stems carry pointed, oval leaves which are black dotted underneath. Sow in March to May, flowers from May to October. Height - 15cm.

Directions
Sow outside from March to May in a sunny position where the plants are to grow, in any garden soil but the lighter the better. Flowers from May to October.
